Benefits of Solar Cooking

By Karen Sparacio | Project Leader

Thanks to your generous support, we have raised $800 and have provided 25 enterprising women with solar cooking equipment.

There have been so many benefits to providing this simple, inexpensive technology.  The women are thrilled to save money every day on charcoal.  Most families have sliced their charcoal expense in half!   The women also spend less time cooking now, which gives them more time to pursue other means of income generating activities.  And, an unexpected benefit, the women can now prepare different foods that they were unable to do so before – such as baking delicious cakes!

For just $10, you can give a woman the tools to provide a cost-effective, nutritious meal for her family, everyday!

Hope and a little help make all the difference.   Together we can transform the community of the Acholi Quarter.
