Success and Progress Come in Unexpected Ways

By Karen Sparacio | Project Leader

We have raised $670 of the $2500 needed to provide 50 enterprising women with solar cooking equipment.  To date, 20 women have received the cooking bags and charcoal efficient stove.  However, more than 50 women have received training on the use of this solar cooking technology.  As this equipment is becoming more popular within the community, it is creating an unexpected industry.

Two women have now embarked on making cooking bags to sell to their neighbors and in local markets.  This venture is making the technology more readily accessible, while also creating an income-generating source for these two enterprising tailors.

For just $10, you can provide the means for improved health, increased hours of productivity at work or school, and a more hopeful future for a family in the Acholi Quarter.

Hope and a little help make all the difference.   Together we can transform the community of the Acholi Quarter.
