Provide Nutritious Meals to Vulnerable Children in

At ACDF Goma Orphanage in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, access to nutritious food remains a major challenge for vulnerable children with disabilities and those undergoing physical rehabilitation. Rising food prices and limited resources make it difficult to provide balanced meals consistently. Yet, proper nutrition is essential to these children’s health, growth, recovery, and ability to participate in educational and rehabilitation activities. Through this project, ACDF aims to provide regular, nutritious meals to 20–25 children over a period of 12 months, helping them move toward a healthier and more hopeful future.

The project is currently in its preparation and resource mobilization phase. ACDF is working to organize the activities and identify the people needed to support its implementation. The project has an estimated budget of US$7,650, but no funds have been raised to date. Consequently, meal distribution activities have not yet begun. Nevertheless, our commitment to supporting these children remains strong. Through our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we hope to reach more international donors, raise awareness of the children’s needs, and mobilize the resources necessary to launch the project.

Once the required funding is secured, donations will support food purchases, essential cooking supplies, and meal preparation through the center’s existing kitchen. The initiative aims to improve the children’s nutritional well-being, support their rehabilitation, and create better conditions for learning and development. For these children, a nutritious meal is more than food; it is an important step toward better health, dignity, and opportunity.
