It's very important to understand that poverty is systemic. This is as true in Uganda as it is in other parts of the world. There is no single solution or a silver bullet that lifts women out of those circumstances, so we use the resources available to address these problems through a range of targeted interventions that can help women to improve their economic status, improve their education, sustainability and encourage a better family environment.
Today we're treated with joy when we visited the home of Beatrice. Beatrice 28 years married with 2 children. Joined The Sisters Women group and became a member. The group is made up of 15 members who stary and leave in the same neighborhood. VacNetw provided business skills training and microloans each receiving $50 to start their business.
Beatrice used her $50 microloan to start a retail business Soon she was chosen to chair meetings in a group of 15 strong women and, became a community mobilizer in her area, mobilizing women for antenatal care and reproductive health programs.
“My Life Has Improved in Many Ways from the Support of VacNet.” When Beatrice completed the first phase of the business skills training and leadership skills training her husband encouraged her to start a business and to contest for a position in women council elections. Beatrice shares, “I was elected the woman leader and a community mobilizer in charge of children’s affairs in my village.”
Together with you, we continue to impact women’s lives directly through our microloan program that you support. We believe you will continue to support us to continue this wonderful journey of supporting women to walk their way by themselves your generous donation makes this possible. of people supporting impoverished women.
