The courtyard was filled with conversation, smiles, and cards held in people’s hands. Some artisans studied them closely; others held them up as they exchanged words of gratitude and encouragement with their colleagues.
But beyond the gift-giving, the most important thing about that afternoon was remembering something that is sometimes left unsaid: caring for those who weave matters too.
At Cojolya, weaving is part of daily life for many families. It is work that requires time, concentration, and tremendous physical dedication. That is why the Health Program continues to be a way to support artisans not only in their work but also in their well-being.
We recently distributed the Health Program cards, a form of support designed to provide greater peace of mind and access to medical care for participating families.
During the meeting, we also shared a moment of motivation and reflection on the value of artisanal work within the community and the importance of continuing to strengthen, together, this path that so many families have built through weaving.
Every smile in the photographs reflects much more than a simple handover. It reflects community, support, and the assurance of knowing they are not alone in this journey.
Because, in the end, the well-being of the artisans is also part of everything they make possible every day.
