El Club de Ninos y Ninas de Nuevo Leon, provides comprehensive programs for children and teenagers in healthy and protected spaces, these programs are aimed at their free time after school, during which it raises the risk of incurring into criminal behavior. In Nuevo Leon, 7 out of 10 teenagers do not continue their studies after high school and 4 out of 10 boys and girls from 12 to 17 years are victims of crime and violence.
In Nuevo Leon the first cause of dropout is the financial situation, and second is educational, the boys and girls drop out in order to work either in an informal or criminal jobs within a cell, in most cases are in grades below their age because they have failed at school; although Nuevo Leon is one of the entities with one of the highest rates of schooling with an average of 10 years, 8.4 % of 16 year old teenagers only approved two secondary grades.
Strengthen the skills and capabilities is the best way to prevent school drop-out, the Club de Ninos y Ninas de Nuevo Leon will improve the education quality of 1,000 children and teenagers with complementary activities to educational programs in the state, will receive educational, sport, artistic and human development counseling to keep them safe, out of the streets and prepare them to enhance their skills.
The principle of the best interests of the child is fulfilled ensuring a comprehensive development and a decent life for children and teenagers strengthening their skills through Human Development, Education, Art and Sports activities, providing them safe alternatives to spend their free time helping them in their comprehensive formation of values such as solidarity, discipline, creativity, responsibility, leadership and team work, which are fundamental in a globalized and technology society.
