Giselle has been desperately waiting to escape her abuser with her daughter Amber. Travel restrictions and her abuser working from home during the pandemic made it nearly impossible for Giselle to flee back to the USA for safety. As the abuse escalated, Giselle began to think she would never make it home with Amber.
Amber was terrified of her father. She begged Giselle to take her to Nana's and Papy's house back in the USA.
Our email advocate spent much of 2021 and early 2022 communicating with Giselle providing the only life-line of hope available. Finally they were able to formulate a plan to help her and Amber escape the abuse and return to the USA.
Here is part of an email from Giselle: "Without Kate (Pathways victim advocate) I don't know how I would have made it through the past year. Her words of encouagement are all I had left at times. Amber and I are settling back into a "normal" life. I don't have the words to express how thankful I am."
Supporters like you make this work possible. We can't thank you enough for believing in our mission!
