This project will provide a generator to one health center, in each of the 21 local government areas of Anambra State. Power supply is a major issue in Nigeria, crippling the healthcare, industrial and agricultural sector etc, with average daily power supply estimated at 4 hours, although several days can go by without any power supply at all. Most Nigerian businesses and households rely on generators to supplement the intermittent power supply.
The Nigerian government has failed to provide adequate electricity supply to domestic households and industries, despite a rapidly growing economy. Average daily power supply is estimated at 4 hours, although several days can go by without any power supply at all. This has affected the service delivery of the primary health centers which the people in rural communities rely on for their healthcare needs.
We will buy 21 generators and give one to each health center, across the 21 local government areas in Anambra State, in order to enable them deliver their services smoothly and effectively.
This will give confidence to the staff of the primary health centers, as they continue to provide services to the people, without having the fear of whether there will be power supply or not, especially during emergencies and at nights.
