Background of the Project

Maternal health
challenges remain a major concern among low-income families in Lugbe Community, Abuja. Many pregnant women attending antenatal clinics at AMAC Hospital experience financial difficulties in obtaining essential delivery materials required for safe childbirth and proper newborn care. The rising cost of living and limited economic opportunities have further increased the burden on vulnerable pregnant women, especially widows, single mothers, and women from low-income households.
In response to this need, the Community Volunteers and Support Team organized a humanitarian outreach project aimed at providing delivery items to pregnant women receiving antenatal care at AMAC Hospital. The initiative was designed to support maternal health, reduce financial stress on expectant mothers, and promote safe delivery practices within the community.

To support pregnant women attending AMAC Hospital by providing essential delivery items that will improve maternal care and promote safe childbirth.
Specific Objectives
To provide delivery materials to vulnerable pregnant women attending antenatal care at AMAC Hospital.

High demand from additional pregnant women who also required support.
Recommendations
To improve future interventions, the following recommendations are proposed:
Increase funding and donations to enable support for more pregnant women.
Establish partnerships with NGOs, donors, healthcare institutions, and community-based organizations.
