FGHALF provides free maternal healthcare, prenatal and postnatal care, safe delivery support, vaccinations, essential medications to vulnerable pregnant women, nursing mothers and teenage girls in underserved communities in Lugbe Abuja, Nigeria. Our women led program improves access to quality healthcare and dignity, reduces maternal mortality, reduce preventable deaths, and protects thousands of disadvantaged women and girls through sustainable community based outreach healthcare support.
In underserved communities in Abuja, Nigeria, poverty, poor healthcare access, and low education levels place vulnerable pregnant women and teenage girls at serious risk during pregnancy and childbirth. Many cannot afford prenatal care or safe delivery services, leading to preventable complications such as infections, heavy bleeding, preeclampsia, premature birth, and maternal or infant death. Early pregnancy, gender inequality, and limited reproductive health knowledge increase these risk.
FGHALF will provide free maternal healthcare, prenatal and postnatal care, safe delivery, vaccinations, essential medications, nutritional support, reproductive health education to vulnerable pregnant women and teenage girls in underserved Nigerian communities. Through healthcare outreach, beneficiaries will receive safe childbirth support, education on safe motherhood, family planning, child spacing, reducing preventable deaths, unsafe home deliveries and early marriage, while improving health.
This project will reduce maternal and infant mortality, improve reproductive health outcomes, empower vulnerable women and girls with safer healthcare access and education to make informed health decisions, Long-term, it will strengthen community health awareness around safe motherhood and adolescent health, discourage unsafe childbirth practices, harmful social patterns such as child marriage, create healthier and resilient families, supports sustainable poverty reduction, and stronger futures.
