Our teams in Sierra Leone and Liberia are experiencing skyrocketing prices and high unemployment in the communities we serve. This project will allow us to educate the community on sanitation and distribute supplies such as face masks, disinfectant, rice, oil, and water to help them avoid contracting COVID-19 and move forward into new jobs.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, prices are soaring and taking a heavy toll on the communities we support in Sierra Leone and Liberia. For example, a large bottle of hand sanitizer previously costed $1.50 and now costs $9.
This project will allow our teams led by Manasseh and Emmanuel, already established and running 2 orphanages and 2 schools to also distribute much needed supplies to those who have recently lost their jobs and/or are struggling to afford food and basics. They will also work to educate the community on sanitation and practices that will help them contain the spread of COVID-19.
Our goal is to minimize undernourishment, starvation, and the spread of COVID-19 so that after this pandemic has settled the community will be able to return to normality as quickly as possible.
