Dear donors,
Minor changes took place at Manakamana Old Age Home Khandbari in Sankhuwasabha district of Eastern Nepal during the last three months. Since no water comes in the tap in the evening, the old age people had to go to the Arun river to bring water. It used to be difficult for the very old and weak people to carry water from the river. The people have received a 500 –liter- black water tank to collect and store water for the evening when there is no water in the tap. The tank has been provided by our Makalu Arun Social Trek (MAST) company. From on, they do not have to go to the tap to bring water. They are very happy to find it.
A social worker Mr. Indra Kumar Shrestha from Khandbari has shown interest to construct a prayer hall and as well as another temple in the Makakamana premises. The construction work will be commenced soon and will completed within one year. The last three months, it rained heavily. Very few people came to worship at the temple. So the old age people who are poor and helpless, had to face difficulty to solve their hand to mouth problem.Since it was summer it was not very difficult for them to spend the night. Now winter is approaching they will need some warm clothes to wear. They will also need some warm bed clothes like warm blankets.
Next month they are going to celebrate Dashain and Deepawali their greatest festival. We would like to request you all to share this fund raising project among your networks, families and friends.
