We at East Mississippi Animal Rescue hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and were able to spend it with the ones you love. This holiday season, we are so thankful for donors like you who believe in our mission and help us to accomplish our goals. Today, we want to share with you one of our adoptable animals, and also let you know how your donations have contributed to his care.
East Mississippi Animal Rescue is an independent non-profit animal rescue organization. While we are not a governmental agency nor are we affiliated with one, we do work closely with our local animal control facility to help animals in need. Sherlock, a 3-4 month old male lab mix, is one of those animals.
Sherlock was brought into the local animal control facility with another dog. They may have been strays or sadly, their owner may not have wanted or been able to keep them anymore. While at the facility, Sherlock began showing symptoms of parvovirus, a highly contagious disease that can be life-threatening if not treated quickly. The animal control staff contacted us at EMAR and we brought him into our care. We ensured that Sherlock was seen by a veterinarian and began to receive the treatment and medications he needed. Now, he is on the road to recovery and hopefully, a home of his own in the near future.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity! Your donations helped make this happen. Your donations helped Sherlock get better. Your donations made it possible for Sherlock to one day find his forever home.
As the holiday season quickly approaches and the hustle and bustle of preparation begins, keep our organization in mind. Do you have a family member who is hard to shop for? Do you know someone who loves animals as much as you do? Do you know someone who would appreciate having a donation made in their name or their pet's name, rather than receiving a tangible gift? Making a donation to a charity is a thoughtful and generous way to let someone special know you are thinking of them while spreading cheer this season.
Any donation on GlobalGiving can easily be turned into a gift for any occasion. Simply add a project to your Giving Cart and click on the hyperlink that says "Make your donation in honor of someone."
