For today's report, we'd like to tell you about Mitzie. Mitzie was pulled from a high-kill shelter, where she ended up after her owner passed away. Mitzie had lost the family she had always known and was left in an unfamiliar place with no one to turn to for comfort. Due to Mitzie missing an eye, she was not going to be put up for adoption.
We felt that Mitzie deserved a second chance at life and brought her into our care at East Mississippi Animal Rescue. Soon after coming to EMAR, we noticed Mitzie began gaining a lot of weight fairly quickly. It didn't take long to figure out Mitzie was pregnant! She later gave birth to 7 beautiful puppies.
Mitzie's puppies are now 6 weeks old and doing well. Mitzie will soon be taken to the vet for spay surgery and a heartworm test. She will also have surgery on her eye.
Donations such as the one you've given continue to help us care for animals like Mitzie and her puppies. Vet care, routine and emergency, is not a small expense; costs can add up quickly and your donations help us tackle those costs and make sure animals in our care are well taken care of.
We thank you tremendously for your continued support!
