Food aid has dramatically decreased over the past eight months in kakuma refugee camp, and many people in Kakuma now live on less than $1 USD per day and are not even able to consume 1,000 calories per day. In an attempt to deal with this crisis, refugees have been placed into four categories, based on assumed needs and self-sufficiency those who have some income. Unfortunately, even many of those who are considered able to provide are working hard but still not able to feed their families.
In Kakuma refugee camp we have more than 2,000 families whom are facing a critical food shortage due to recent ration cuts many families in the camp are Surviving with less than one meal per day. And without urgent food support children are at risk malnutrition, parents are left helpless and vulnerable refugees face hunger that threatens their health and their life in the camp.
This project will provide emergency food aid to 350 families in kakuma refugees camp. with just $4.50, we can provide a simple meal for one family per day and $100 can feed a family for entire month. By supplying families with food support we will at least reduce hunger in camp for most affected Refugees. Donors will be receiving reports on spending and photos.
By providing this emergency food support will protect children and families from hunger, with the access to food children will participate to school comfortably and this will help parents spare the stress of watching their children go hunger. With this support will give these most affected families with time as the solution is being discuss by UNHCR and other Humanitarian agencies.
