This project will provide disposable diapers for poor vulnerable children at home and in the rehabilitation centers in Anambra State, to support them. Disposable diapers are believed to be more convenient and sanitary than clothe diapers, keeps a baby dry and less likely to make them suffer from diaper rash. Parents who cannot afford to provide enough diapers for their child are forced to leave their baby in a soiled diaper longer than is appropriate, leading to diaper rash and other infections.
In Nigeria, many poor families find it difficult to eat and feed their babies properly, talk more of providing enough diapers for them. Without consistent diaper changes, babies run the risk of infections and other significant health problems that can put additional financial strain on the families. Without a day's worth of disposable diapers, children from poor families cannot also attend daycare. A typical baby needs 10-12 diapers a day while a toddler needs approximately 8 diapers.
We will provide disposable diapers for these children, to support their families in taking adequate care of them.
These children's health would be preserved, as they will have enough diapers to change to without staying in a soiled diaper longer than is required, thus protecting them from infections and other health problems.
