Provide Debt Relief for 20,000 U.S. Borrowers

We’ve all faced challenges over the past few months, but those hardships don’t define who we are. If anything, they only reaffirm what we already know–that we have to stick together and lean on one another through the good and the bad. At Debtless, it’s our job to be the ones that borrowers can lean on no matter what type of debt they hold.

Our solution to the predatory debt crisis is simple: cancel debt completely for as many people as we can. How do we do it? 

• We identify and purchase predatory debt on the secondary market that will have the largest impact on vulnerable populations.
• As a 501(c)(3), we discharge debt entirely without adverse tax consequences for borrowers.
• We notify borrowers of their newly debt-free status and provide them with financial resources to help them stay debt-free.

Predatory lenders are hard at work keeping borrowers drowning in endless cycles of debt. That’s why we’re working even harder to ensure that we’re counteracting those efforts by getting rid of predatory debt entirely. 

Every single dollar of debt canceled counts when we talk about restoring financial freedom to borrowers in need. Last year, we restored $11,384,399 worth of financial freedom for borrowers all over the country. 

Our debt relief efforts reached every single state (including Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico), but there were a few standouts. Texas, California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Maryland had the most debt canceled and with thousands of borrowers experiencing direct debt relief.
