Hogar San Jose Home provides shelter, food, emotional support, education and love to more than 100 girls that go through our Home during the year. A judge has taken them away from their homes because they were sexually abused and battered by someone in their own families. The safety and support the girls receive in Hogar San Jose helps the girls break away from the abusive pattern in which they grew up.
Violence and sexual abuse affects many young girls in Argentina. Even if someone outside the family circle notices and denounces the abuse to the authorities, it is difficult to provide a safe environment with the kind of support that help the girls recover self esteem and break away from this violence.
This project makes possible a safe environment where 25 girls at a time can receive quality education, psychological and medical care to help them heal physically and mentally from prior abuse and start recovering their dignity and self esteem.
This project will help more than 100 girls a year grow into educated and emotionally healthy young women with tools and resources to take care of themselves, and to rise out of poverty and violence.
This project has provided additional documentation in a XLSX file (projdoc.xlsx).
