Pandemic Professors offers individualized education services to at-risk youth. We pledge to fight the effects of the growing inequalities caused from COVID-19 and school closures. We provide 1:1 tutoring services, as well as ESL tra, financial literacy, coding tutoring, and socioemotional support. We have served over 250 students in 20 states, and we are dedicated to serving more students in need, with the ultimate goal of closing the education gap caused by socioeconomic and racial disparities.
Students in low-income communities lack the individualized attention and resources needed to succeed academically. COVID-19 has exacerbated these challenges due to distance learning. Students are falling behind the academic requirements at even more alarming rates because of these a lack of resources and technological barriers. Without individualized academic support, there lies a significant challenge for at-risk students to regain their confidence in learning, which widens the education gap.
Pandemic Professors aims to bridge the education gap by providing individualized support needed to strengthen academic achievement and promote socio-emotional learning. Through personalized support, we strengthen communities by making services accessible to under-resourced communities. We offer free programs, including 1:1 tutoring, coding, financial literacy, and ELL support. We partner with school districts and nonprofits to ensure we serve those students and families who are most in need.
The goal of our program is to combat challenges for at-risk youth in these difficult times and beyond. By improving academic performance, potential long-term impacts include increased school retention, high school graduation, college admission, and employment rates, as well as enhanced social skills critical to development and success later in life. We advocate for students' love for learning in order to ultimately reduce the education gap caused by racial and social disparities.
