By Melissa Rancourt | Founder of greenlight for girls
The children in a country school & orphanage in Cameroon are so happy to receive their new science books!! Thanks to the collection of science books at our latest greenlight for girls day in Brussels, Belgium, we had 50 books ready to send to our partner in Cameroon.
For each of our partners throughout the world, we identify what types of books are of need to the rural schools and orphanages that we reach. In the case of Cameroon, the request was for children's books in French and English that engaged the children to learn about science from the youngest age possible. In their school system, unfortunately science topics are not taught until after the age of 15 years, so they wanted to have an impact to the children at a younger age to already prepare both their interest and their initial learning.
Mission accomplished for our first delivery of books!! Thank you for helping us to make this happen!
We have 100 books ready to go to 2 new countries in Africa -- help us to raise fund for the shipping costs to get them into the hands of more children eager to learn and discover new ideas.
