Friends Peace House has a project to support 66 adolescent mothers through a livelihood project that provides them with milking cows.
The project aims to improve the economic well-being of vulnerable young mothers while contributing to improved nutrition and household income.
The cows are an important source of milk for the mothers and their children, while also providing an opportunity for the families to build sustainable livelihoods. In the long term, the project is expected to help the beneficiaries become more economically independent and better able to provide for their children.
Current Challenge: Prolonged Sunshine
Currently, our communities are experiencing a long period of sunshine and limited rainfall, which has resulted in a shortage of natural grass and other feed for livestock. This has created a significant challenge for the adolescent mothers who received cows through this project.
To protect the cows and ensure that the project continues to benefit the families, Friends Peace House is supporting and encouraging the beneficiaries to look for available grass and other appropriate livestock feed in their communities. The mothers are making efforts to keep their cows healthy despite these difficult conditions.
However, the shortage of pasture is increasing the cost and difficulty of caring for the animals. Without adequate feed, the cows may produce less milk and their health may suffer, putting the progress these vulnerable families have made at risk.
How Your Support Can Help
We are therefore appealing to donors, partners, and well-wishers to support this incredible project. Your contribution can help us provide the necessary support to the adolescent mothers, particularly in securing livestock feed during this prolonged dry period.
Your support will help us:
1. Provide grass and other appropriate livestock feed.
2. Maintain the health and productivity of the cows.
3. Ensure that children continue benefiting from nutritious milk.
4. Protect the livelihoods of the adolescent mothers.
5. Strengthen the mothers' ability to generate sustainable household income.
6. Ensure that the investment already made in these families continues to have a lasting impact.
Every Contribution Makes a Difference
These young mothers have been allowed to build a better future for themselves and their children. We do not want the current dry conditions to reverse the progress they have made.
We invite donors and well-wishers to stand with these adolescent mothers during this challenging period. Your support can provide the feed needed to keep their cows healthy and productive, helping these families continue on the path toward self-reliance.
Together, we can protect this investment, strengthen vulnerable families, and help adolescent mothers build brighter and more sustainable futures for their children.
Thank you for standing with these young mothers and supporting their journey toward self-reliance.
