Provide 500 Charcoal Stoves to IDPs in Nigeria

Dear donors,

Thank you for your support and for caring about displaced families in Nigeria.

Many families in IDP camps struggle to cook meals safely. Without electricity or affordable kerosene, they often rely on open fires, which cause smoke, burns, and respiratory illnesses. Rising fuel costs make it even harder, and recent cuts in support from UN agencies and USAID have left thousands without safe cooking options.

This project will provide 500 efficient charcoal stoves to families in five camps: Area 1, Kuchigoro, Masaka, Borno, and Benue State. These stoves burn cleaner, cook faster, and use less fuel. They are easy to use, require no electricity or kerosene, and will make daily cooking safer and more affordable, especially for women, children, and the elderly.

The donations collected so far are not enough to get the project underway, but we remain hopeful that with more support, we can reach these families and help them cook safely and reduce health risks.

Dear respected friends

Five hundred internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nigeria continue to face daily struggles with preparing meals. Many have no money to buy kerosene, and cooking over open firewoods outside is difficult due to frequent rains. At the same time, cooking indoors is unsafe because smoke fills the rooms, causing choking and respiratory problems.

We have not received donations to start this project yet, but we are hopeful. This project will allow these families to cook safely indoors, prepare meals efficiently, and reduce the health risks caused by smoke and unsafe cooking methods. Immediate support is essential to relieve this daily hardship and improve the living conditions of displaced families.
