Project Report | Jul 27, 2026
Summary of Activities to Eliminate Violence Agains

By Rosario Hernandez | Donor Relations Manager

Over the last 3 months, WRC has executed targeted interventions through the Wellness Center, House of Families, and Safer Cities for Girls projects to protect, empower, and support women and children. A core focus of these initiatives was providing specialized protection, counseling, and case management services. During this period, 70 clients received direct counseling and referral services (including 27 males), supported by 5 indirect counseling cases, 4 legal support referrals, and 41 active case management files that included 3 new cases. Additionally, teams conducted 49 household home visits and comprehensive assessments to evaluate safety and tailor ongoing support.

To address immediate crises and safeguard vulnerable households, the project delivered 123 emergency support packages covering critical needs such as health fees, food assistance, bicycles, school materials, and legal aid. Community-level engagement was further strengthened through dedicated mental health and wellbeing activities. These included 15 indoor family bonding events engaging 480 participants, 4 family workshops reaching 138 individuals on topics like stress and anger management, and specialized support groups such as a Women’s Empowerment Group focusing on self-care.

Prevention and awareness-raising efforts heavily centered on youth and community mobilization led by trained ambassadors. Eighteen youth ambassadors spearheaded a major community forum reaching 167 participants, featuring safeguarding policies, skits, and stakeholder panels. Outreach was expanded digitally through youth-produced podcasts and videos addressing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) myths (achieving thousands of views) alongside mobile cart awareness sessions at the Royal Garden Palace and influencer partnerships. Furthermore, to ensure sustainable local capacity, the project conducted a basic counseling skills refresher workshop for 21 school staff from eight target schools, enhancing institutional safety nets for children and adolescents.
