Provide women and girls education in Cambodia

Dear friend, 

At WRC, we continue working hard for the empowerment of women! 

From July to September 2023, the Safer City for Girls project reached and engaged 403
individuals, out of which 277 were females (175 girls under 18 years of age, 102 women over
18 years of age, 82 boys under age 18, and 44 men over age 18) to create a safer Siem Reap for girls!

The project team and the youth ambassadors conducted an interface meeting with local
authorities to discuss the recommendations collected as the result of the "safety walk" activity.

This safety walk collects the perception of girls in terms of their safety walking in different areas of the city.

After the information was collected, the youth ambassadors requested their local authorities to: Provide checkpoint of village guards for emergency reporting, Request for Education on Sexual Harassment in Communities and Schools, Request a billboard describing the penalties for sexual harassment and contacting local authorities).

Another incubator project also worked on educating and providing skills to women who live in challenge within the city of Siem Reap. The project aims at empowering 30 micro/small businesswomen, between 15-35 years old, in Siem Reap with new knowledge,
skills, and access to networks and resources to create and maintain successful, sustainable
businesses that reach new networks, and give women a voice on a wider platform in society.
During the reporting period (July-September 2023) WRC produced significant achievements
as below mentioned:
- Conducted Financial Literacy workshop for young women: 17 women
- Conducted women's support group session: 18 women.
