Growing the trees we'll plant in Cerro Tortuga

Waiting for Caoba (endangered) seeds too germinate

Looking back at what we have achieved, we feel empowered to accomplish anything, and that is because we know we are standing alongside so many others who dream with us. We know that every cent donated represents time you invested in your work—an effort you made and chose to share with the dream we proposed to you. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and reaffirm our commitment to the care of this territory. We hope that once it is part of our Foundation, you can come and feel for yourselves the magic and life that inhabits Cerro Tortuga. We will be here, taking care of this land and joyfully awaiting your visit!

We are filled with joy to share the progress of these last three months. Thanks to your generous support, we are one step away from consolidating this collective dream; we are already in the final stretch of fundraising, with a deeply positive attitude and a grateful heart seeing how far we have walked together. We feel the goal is within reach and are thrilled to know that soon these lands will be protected forever. While we wait to achieve this we have focused on reproducing and growing endangered and native tree species so we can start the regeneration of the damaged areas of Cerro Tortuga as soon as we buy the land.

During this period, we have also dedicated valuable time to scouting the terrain, walking its trails to identify those areas that will require priority restoration actions once the land is under our care. These journeys have allowed us to connect more deeply with the territory and precisely plan the ecological future of the area. In parallel, we maintain constant and fluid conversations with the current owner to agree on the legal terms of the sale, moving forward with a firm step toward the closing of this process.

The coming weeks will be decisive, as we will conduct a technical visit with a surveyor to measure the total area using GPS technology. This step is fundamental to ensure that the extension of the land corresponds exactly to what is stipulated in the property titles, providing total transparency and legal security to the acquisition. It is a detailed technical task that prepares the ground—literally and symbolically—for the official handover.

Our vision is set on the month of August, coinciding with the start of the rainy season. We hope by then to have the land under our custody and celebrate the beginning of the ecological restoration by planting the first 500 native trees we have been reproducing and growing in our Greenhouse with this objective. This action will be the first major milestone in strengthening the water system of Cerro Tortuga, ensuring that water and life continue to flourish thanks to the community of donors who made this possible.

We hope to have the best news for you soon!
