250 children to benefit from Project Noor and MAITS partnership in India

By Jenny Simpson | Project Coordinator

Dear Supporters,

Project Noor partnered with MAITS to conduct training for Master Trainers from Deepika Child Development Center in Kanpur, UP, India. 15 Master Trainers from the region were trained in the MAITS Community Health Workers training and package. The group consisted of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, special educators, nutritionists and an organisation head. The trainees were allotted parts of the package to train on and were then judged on the last day for their practical and theoretical skills in understanding the package and sharing the same with others. The assessment of the trainees has been shared with MAITS.

Deepika Physiotherapy Center has 4 branches across the city of Kanpur and provides services to 300-400 children with developmental disabilities every year.

The second level training will be done by the Master Trainers, after which they will receive their certificates. They hope to initiate the second level training under their charitable venture to enable them to reach families in rural parts of the region. During the period of the training, Deepika Physiotherapy Center had also organised a meeting of over 200 physiotherapists from across UP where the information on MAITS work and the training program was shared.

It is hoped that this Master Training program will directly impact lives of 250 children with developmental disabilities.

The entire MAITS Team continues to be thankful for all your support.
