Supporting Communities Exposed to Agrochemicals
By Maria Laura Carrizo | Environment Coordinator of Fundeps
At this stage, after a process of local research on agroecology, actors, needs, weaknesses and strengths, our efforts are focused on actions aimed at guaranteeing the sovereignty and food security of the Cordoba community. We work providing support to the agroecological fair of the City of Córdoba, promoting the sustainability and growth of the production and fair marketing of agroecological products in the province.
We are also processing and generating information aimed at empowering people who consume food, to strengthen and guarantee their rights.
This is in line with our work to continue supporting productive alternatives free of agrochemicals. In addition to our permanent accompaniment to the fumigated communities in their claims for fumigation and for the creation of agrochemical-free zones.

Agrochemical Emergency
By Maria Laura Carrizo | Coordinator of the Environment area of Fundeps
During these months, we continue working with cases of communities fumigated with agrochemicals in the province of Córdoba. Punctually we are thinking of strategies in conjunction with referents from the towns of Marcos Juarez and Colonia Tirolesa to accompany the initiation of legal actions for contamination with agrochemicals.
In addition, we are participating, within the framework of a university project, in the agroecological fair of the City of Córdoba where, through different activities, agroecological production farmers, university teachers, students, civil society organizations and people in general they exchange knowledge and insights on agroecology and food sovereignty.
In the coming months we will update the Agrochemical Emergency website with the news that exists in each of the cases studied.

"Agrochemical Emergency": working with communities
By Juan Bautista Lopez | Coordinator - Environment
Our work with communities affected by agrochemicals is expanding. From the experience of working with the affected communities, we were able to notice the causes that originate the problem of application against agrochemicals.
In this sense, we began to investigate the agro-industrial production model and its impacts, and the alternatives to this production system, including agroecology.
In addition to updating the agrochemical emergency website, we began research on the agroecological alternative and its real expressions in the community of Córdoba. In that order, we are carrying out various investigations in order to know the degree of participation of women and diverse identities in the production, marketing and distribution of agroecological products and the public policies that strengthen or impede their development. Likewise, we continue to work with the affected communities.
However, in the coming months we will begin a new mapping update process to incorporate the new conflictive situations detected during this year.
