The “Warmth for Every Family” Campaign by the Egyptian Clothing Bank was launched to support underprivileged families in Egypt’s rural and border areas, who face harsh winter conditions and lack access to essential clothing and bedding. These conditions significantly increase health risks, especially among children and the elderly, making winter support an urgent humanitarian need.
Through GlobalGiving, we successfully raised $815 during this reporting period. This contribution had a direct and measurable impact on the ground, enabling ECB to support 18 underprivileged families with complete Winter Family Boxes particularly in Beni Suef and South Sinai. Each donation was fully translated into immediate relief for families most in need.
Each Winter Family Box included a thick blanket, a men’s winter set, a women’s shawl and abaya, two children’s winter tracksuits, and winter socks for the entire family. All items were produced through ECB’s circular model, which transforms textile waste into usable products while empowering women through local production workshops, ensuring both social and environmental impact.
This support provided families with improved protection against winter cold, reduced health risks, and helped children maintain school attendance during harsh weather.
