Challenge

In eastern DRC, armed conflict and climate-related crises leave many rural and Indigenous women and girls facing insecurity, discrimination, and limited opportunities to defend their rights. Displacement and economic hardship can make daily life even more difficult, while their voices often go unheard in decisions affecting their families and communities. Without sustained support, these women and girls risk remaining excluded from the protection, opportunities, and resources they need to build

Solution

The project aims to support rural and Indigenous women through community-led initiatives focused on women's rights, peacebuilding, and local development. By strengthening women's participation and encouraging communities to recognize and respect their rights, the initiative seeks to create opportunities for women and girls to speak up about their needs and take part in decisions that affect their lives. Donations will support project activities that are confirmed and budgeted by the implementing

Long-Term Impact

Supporting Indigenous women and girls in eastern DRC can help build stronger, more inclusive communities. Over time, greater awareness of women's rights and stronger participation in community decisions can contribute to peaceful relationships, improved protection, and more opportunities for women to shape their future. By investing in women-led peace and development efforts, donors can help lay the groundwork for lasting change that benefits families and future generations.
