Horseracing Wrongs is launching a nationwide campaign to expose the cruelty of horseracing. With outdoor ads, digital toolkits, and advocacy training, we will educate the public and empower individuals to take action. We will also send educational packets to legislators, urging them to end horseracing subsidies and protect horses. Your support will help end this cruel industry for good.
Nationally, Horseracing Wrongs has documented nearly 11,000 horse deaths since 2014; our research shows that well over 2,000 horses are killed at U.S. tracks annually. Over 2,000 - that's about six every single day. And it's animal cruelty. Horseracing is unmitigated cruelty and wholesale killing, a world away from the sport it purports to be. And what is most shocking: this cruelty and killing is being heavily subsidized by state taxpayers.
Horseracing Wrongs has led the way in shifting public opinion about the cruelty horses endure in the racing industry, sparking a growing movement. But our work is far from finished. To end this cruelty and eliminate the taxpayer subsidies that sustain it, we need to amplify our efforts. Through continued education, outreach, and advocacy, we can empower thousands of people to take action and ensure that horses are no longer exploited for entertainment and profit.
By educating the public and eliminating taxpayer subsidies, we aim to dismantle the financial support of horseracing, ultimately ending the industry. This will protect horses from exploitation, injury, and death for entertainment and profit. Through increased awareness and stronger laws, we will safeguard future generations of horses and set a precedent for more compassionate, animal-friendly policies nationwide.
