The Protect Girls from Early Marriage project by Elite Star Foundation is focused on protecting 300 vulnerable girls in Nigeria from early and forced marriage through school retention support, family counseling, mentoring, life-skills education, community awareness, and referrals for urgent protection cases. The project has a total fundraising goal of $8,750, with $11 raised from 1 donor, leaving $8,739 still required to fully implement the planned activities.
At this stage, the project remains significantly underfunded, meaning that the majority of planned interventions are still dependent on additional financial support. Donations will directly help provide educational materials, school supplies, mentoring and life-skills training, community dialogues, girls’ protection clubs, awareness campaigns, and emergency protection referrals. The project’s current financial position highlights the urgent need for increased donor participation so that Elite Star Foundation can reach the targeted 300 girls and begin delivering sustained protection and education support.
Continued fundraising and community engagement will therefore remain a priority in the next phase, with emphasis on mobilizing resources to expand implementation and ensure that vulnerable girls remain in school, understand their rights, and have safer alternatives to early marriage.
