Successful Move of Animals Fiji
By Sophie Birkett | Head of Operations, Charitable Trust
Dear Supporter,
With the financial support of the GVI Charitable Trust and other generous local donors, The Animals Fiji Rescue Centre has been able to move to a temporary location in Nadi and has resumed normal operations!
Support from us, thanks to your support and donations, has been used to facilitate this move and will also help support the future investments needed for a permanent new location for what is the only current animal shelter in the Western Division of Fiji. GVI will continue to support this local organization over these transitions.
Thank you for supporting this project through it's time, you have made a great impact on animal welfare in the Fijian Islands and we and the entire GVI and Animals Fiji team are greatful for your support.
All the best

Update from Animals Fiji
By Sophie Birkett | Head of Operations, Charitable Trust
Dear Supporter,
Last month, we responded to an urgent request for support from Animals Fiji. Animals Fiji is an organization based on the West coast of Viti Levu that runs the main animal rescue centre for the region. Recently Animals Fiji was told they had a month to leave the land on which the rescue centre is based and are now urgently raising funds for the relocation and establishment of a new shelter and location. Funds raised through the GVI CT project have been put towards this important cause. The Charitable Trust has donated $4000 Fijian dollars thanks to your generous donations towards the relocation operation in the effort to ensure that this valuable service (the only one of its kind in Western Fiji) can continue to help Fiji’s sick, disabled, and mistreated animals.
‘I again, want to thank GVI for the fantastic generous donation!
Currently in our care we have 30 animals. 20 cats are actually on site of our temporary clinic as it is being built and 10 dogs and puppies that are out being fostered by voluntary families to assist us during this chaotic time.Although, the battle is only half over we still have to finish the construction of our temporary site, which we are creating out of shipping containers allowing us to easily relocate them once we have raised enough funds and found land to have our fur-ever home. The funds raised so far are just over FJ $115,000, we hope to reach our goal soon.'

Charitable Trust Funded Neutering Clinic
By Sophie Birkett | Head of Operations, Charitable Trust
Dear Supporter,
The generous donations to the GVI Charitable Trust from people like you now mean that GVI and the Fiji SPCA are in a position to move forward with further project planning for a Charitable Trust Funded Neutering Clinic in partnership with the SPCA. GVI will utilize the expertise and knowledge of the SPCA to target areas of the Fiji Mainland of Viti Levu where dogs are most vulnerable to malnutrition and abuse. These funds will be key to financing the required equipment and logistics for the clinics so we can help with combatting the issue of animal welfare on the island. The implementation of a neutering program will reduce the number of litters of homeless puppies born per year
We look forward to bringing you more news shortly on how the clinic progresses. Thank you for supporting and understanding the importance of this project.
All the best
