Protect Disabled Women from Gender-Based Violence

She has dreams.

She wants to contribute to her family. She wants to be respected in her community. She wants to make decisions about her own life. Above all, she wants to live without fear of violence, discrimination, or abuse.

Yet for many women with disabilities, these basic hopes can be difficult to realize.

Too often, disability is accompanied by exclusion. A woman may be overlooked when opportunities arise, left out of community decisions, denied access to information and services, or made dependent on others for her everyday needs.

These barriers can also increase her vulnerability to gender-based violence.

But disability does not diminish a woman's potential, her dignity, or her right to determine her future.

Through GoGreen's Protecting Disabled Women from Gender-Based Violence project, we are working alongside women with disabilities to help strengthen their voices, increase awareness of their rights, connect them with support, and create opportunities that contribute to greater independence and inclusion.

We believe every woman should be able to say:

I have a voice.
I have rights.
I have something to contribute.
I deserve to be safe.
I can build a better future.
