No Woman Should Face Violence Alone
Violence against women and girls is one of the world's most widespread human rights violations—but for women and girls with disabilities, the risks are even greater.
According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), nearly one in three women worldwide—approximately 736 million women—have experienced physical and/or sexual violence during their lifetime. In humanitarian and conflict settings, women and girls often face even greater risks of abuse, exploitation, and harmful practices. Recent evidence also shows that women with disabilities experience higher rates of intimate partner and sexual violence than women without disabilities. These women are too often invisible in prevention programmes and overlooked when support services are designed.
In Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria, recurring conflict, displacement, poverty, and discrimination have created an especially dangerous environment for women and girls with disabilities. Many survivors remain silent because they fear stigma, lack access to disability-inclusive services, or simply have nowhere to turn.
GoGreen Environmental Health Sustainability Initiatives is determined to change this reality.
Through this project, we will provide survivor-centred support, rights education, psychosocial care, legal and health referrals, livelihood assistance, and safe spaces where women and girls with disabilities can heal, rebuild their confidence, and become advocates for change within their communities.
Your support does more than respond to violence.
It helps prevent the next survivor.
It helps protect the next girl at risk.
It helps build communities where women with disabilities are respected, included, and empowered.
Together, we can replace fear with hope, silence with confidence, and exclusion with opportunity.
Every woman deserves safety.
Every girl deserves dignity.
Every donation helps make that future possible.
