Women with disabilities are often doubly stigmatized—first for their gender, and again for their disability. In Nigeria, they are almost twice as likely to experience gender-based violence as their non-disabled peers (UN Nigeria, 2020). This stigma creates isolation, making it harder for survivors to speak out or access help.
Our project is dedicated to reversing this pattern in Guma, Benue State. We create safe spaces where women and girls can gather, share experiences, and receive the psychosocial and legal support they need. We also conduct awareness campaigns to educate communities about the rights of disabled women and to challenge myths and prejudices.
When you support this project, you’re not only providing critical services—you’re also helping to transform the way communities view and treat women with disabilities. Your contribution funds education, advocacy training, and survivor support programs that build confidence and foster solidarity.
By investing in these women and girls, you help them move from stigma to strength—breaking free from isolation and becoming leaders in their communities. Your generosity lays the groundwork for a more inclusive and compassionate Nigeria.
