Deeply entrenched cultural norms continue to fuel gender-based violence and early marriage in Northern Nigeria. According to a 2023 study published in the National Library of Medicine, 41.5% of Nigerian girls are married before the age of 18. Girls with disabilities face even greater risks, often lacking advocates and support systems.
Our project tackles these issues by combining individual support with broader community engagement. We provide 50 women and girls with disabilities with education about their rights, access to legal and health services, and psychosocial support to recover from trauma. At the same time, we work with community leaders, religious figures, and local families to challenge and transform harmful beliefs.
With your donation, we can continue to develop community advocates who address root causes and champion inclusion. Every girl empowered through this program becomes a beacon of hope and a catalyst for lasting change—helping to shift attitudes and break the cycle of violence for future generations.
Your support is the foundation for safer, more equitable communities where every girl can realize her potential. Together, we are transforming norms—one life, one family, one community at a time.
