Protecting Childhood in Brazil

Durante o segundo bimestre de 2026, o CEPAC promoveu experiências educativas, culturais e sociais que contribuíram para o desenvolvimento integral das crianças atendidas pelo Serviço de Convivência e Vínculos Sociais Semeando o Futuro. De maio a agosto, as atividades foram organizadas em torno do programa “Cidadania e Participação Social” , abordando temas relacionados à convivência social, direitos, participação, cultura, diversidade e fortalecimento de laços. Ao longo do período, o serviço manteve uma forte participação, com mais de 120 crianças atendidas por mês .

Em maio, as atividades se concentraram em construir um senso de pertencimento e valorizar a história do CEPAC . As crianças aprenderam sobre a história da instituição por meio de uma linha do tempo, fotografias, relatos, desenhos e atividades em grupo. Elas também participaram de atividades focadas em cidadania, respeito, responsabilidade, gentileza e cuidado com os espaços compartilhados , refletindo sobre atitudes que fazem parte de seu cotidiano.

The month was also marked by Maio Laranja, an initiative addressing the prevention of child sexual abuse and exploitation in a playful and age-appropriate way. Through group discussions and the “Touch Traffic Light” activity, the children learned about protection, personal boundaries, and the importance of seeking help from a trusted adult when faced with situations that cause fear, sadness, or discomfort.

During June and July, Brazilian culture was highlighted through activities, particularly the preparations for the CEPAC Arraial. The children learned about different cultural expressions, discussed customs, cuisine, language, and regional traditions, and participated in making decorations, decorating the spaces, and rehearsing the traditional quadrilha dance.

The period also included the CEPAC Olympics, bringing different groups together through activities such as soccer, dodgeball, capture the flag, checkers, and circuits. More than moments of fun, these experiences encouraged cooperation, creativity, participation, social coexistence, and respect for rules. The Arraial, held with the participation of families and the different projects at the center, further strengthened bonds and a sense of belonging to the community.

In August, the activities focused on literature, creativity, and sustainability. During Literary Week, the children participated in reading circles, storytelling, and painting activities, engaging with literature in a playful and enjoyable way. They also had the opportunity to create their own characters and settings, collaboratively developing a story and strengthening creativity, self-expression, communication, and interaction.

In the area of environmental awareness, activities were carried out on sustainability, recycling, and the proper disposal of waste, including the “Óleo no Futuro” Campaign, which encouraged the children to share the knowledge they acquired with their families. The program concluded with a Cultural Exhibition, in which the children themselves helped organize an exhibition featuring the work produced during the previous months, valuing their learning, creativity, and active participation.

Ao longo deste programa, as atividades contribuíram para fortalecer a convivência social, a autoexpressão, a cooperação, a criatividade e a participação das crianças , além de ampliar o contato delas com diferentes expressões culturais e temas relacionados à cidadania, proteção e cuidado coletivo. Essas experiências proporcionaram oportunidades de aprendizado e diversão, fortalecendo laços e criando espaços onde cada criança pudesse se expressar, participar e reconhecer seu papel na comunidade .
