Rafael used to spend his days selling candy on the streets and struggling to attend school. Like many vulnerable children in Brazil, he lacked protection, support, and the chance to simply be a child. At Cepac, he found a safe place to learn, play, and dream again. This project protects children from child labor, school dropout, and neglect, offering education, care, and a safe environment for their development.
In many low-income communities in Brazil, children and adolescents face daily risks such as child labor, school dropout, neglect, and exposure to violence. Without safe spaces or structured activities after school, many spend long hours on the streets while their families work. This lack of support puts their development and future opportunities at serious risk.
This project provides a safe and supportive environment for children and adolescents during after-school hours. At Cepac, they participate in socio-educational and cultural activities, receive academic support, meals, and emotional guidance. By offering protection, learning opportunities, and family support, the project helps children stay in school, avoid risks, and build healthier futures.
By protecting children today, this project helps break cycles of vulnerability and inequality. With access to education, care, and safe spaces, children are more likely to stay in school, develop confidence, and build better opportunities for their future. In the long term, the project strengthens families, reduces risks such as child labor and violence, and supports healthier communities.
