By Cepac Barueri | Organization
Between March and June, we strengthened our efforts to protect children and adolescents in vulnerable situations through Cepac’s programs in Barueri, Brazil. During this period, 137 individual psychosocial support sessions were carried out, along with group discussions on rights, self-care, and healthy relationships. Our team also engaged with 62 families through home visits and guidance meetings, reinforcing the protection network around each child.
One of those children is Luana, a 10-year-old girl who arrived at Cepac withdrawn and showing signs of emotional neglect. Over time, she began trusting the educators, participating actively in workshops, and expressing herself through art. One of the most touching moments was a collective mural activity where the children painted a tree using the palms of their hands — a symbolic act that now colors our walls with a sense of belonging and care.
Several special activities brought joy and learning during this period. In April, a donated Easter celebration filled the children’s day with chocolate and smiles. In May, we joined the national campaign against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation in Brazil, engaging children in age-appropriate workshops to teach about body safety and how to seek help when needed.
We remain committed to building safe, welcoming, and stimulating spaces where every child can grow with dignity and protection. Thank you for walking this journey with us.
