Mental health problem accounts for 12.45% of the burden of diseases in Ethiopia and 12% of the Ethiopian people are suffering from some form of mental health problems. The community has poor knowledge about causes, symptoms and treatment of mental health problems. It is common to see mentally ill individuals in streets and sewage channels who need medical attention and integration to the community. . To change this meager situation, the project will undertake.
the project will solve the problem through public education, awareness raising, advocacy, community based care, psychotherapy, medical treatment and establishment of rehabilitation center.
The project will take care of the mental health of 200 mentally ill individuals and enable them to integrate into the society and be productive citizens
