Save a Life remains committed to strengthening voluntary blood donation across Jaffna's university community, building on the momentum of our recent campaign in partnership with the Philosophical Society and the Jaffna Blood Bank, which brought together 58 donors, including a strong number of first-time female donors.
Since that campaign, our focus has shifted to the follow-up work we committed to: expanding awareness beyond a single event into an ongoing culture of giving. We have been engaging student groups to plan pre-campaign awareness sessions that address the hesitation and misconceptions that kept some students from donating last time, particularly around the donation process itself and common health myths.
We are also working to broaden participation beyond the faculties reached in our last campaign, reaching out to additional student societies and academic departments so that more of the university community has the opportunity to take part in future donation drives.
Our partnership with the Jaffna Blood Bank continues to be a cornerstone of this work, ensuring that any donations collected are processed safely and reach patients who need them most. We are grateful for their continued guidance and logistical support.
We remain thankful to our donors and partners for keeping this initiative alive. Every contribution helps us reach more students, dispel more myths about blood donation, and ultimately save more lives through a stronger, more informed donor base in Jaffna.
