Thank you all for continuing to support our work to promote paediatric pain management. Our survey is about to go round to countries around the world to assess what medications they have available for managing pain in children’s palliative care.
Having gathered examples of pain guidelines from around the world we are also in the process of reviewing this and looking at the evidence for the assessment and management of pain to feed into the best practice pain guidelines that we are developing for children’s palliative care. We are delighted to be doing this in collaboration with other organisations, including the WHO.
We have continued to provide face-to-face training on children’s palliative care around the world, including participants from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, China, Cyprus, Czechia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Mexico, Mongolia, North Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. We are also continuing to support the team in Iraq and are about to begin a programme of CPC development, including pain management, in Ghana.
Our elearning programmes, including on pain assessment and management continue to be used widely and our new advanced course on neonatal palliative care has been available since mid-December and is being well received. We also continue with our regular webinars on all aspects of children’s palliative care and have had a wide range of participants attending the webinars and taking our elearning programmes, so we hope we are reaching many with our education programmes, and particularly with regards to pain assessment and management.
So much is happening here at ICPCN with regards to children’s palliative care and we are excited to be working with colleagues from around the world to ensure that children globally have access to the care that they need.
Thank you again for your continued support.
