Thank you all for your ongoing support to promote paediatric pain management. Since our last report we have been working hard to gather together examples of pain guidelines from around the world. We have also been working on the survey to send out to individuals from around the world. We are working with colleagues on this work from around the world on this, including St Jude’s with whom we are collaborating on the survey. It is important that we build on what has been done and not reinvent the wheel.
We have continued to provide training on children’s palliative care around the world, including in China and Uganda. We are also about to support some training in Kenya alongside the Kenyan Palliative Care Conference, and will be working with teams from EPEC to run a 5-day training programme in Salzburg, Austria for participants from across the region.
Our elearning programmes, including on pain assessment and management continue to be used widely and we hope that our new advanced course on neonatal palliative care will be available shortly. We have also been actively working with the WHO with regards to guidelines on access to pain medications including the publication of a report ‘Left behind in pain’. Alongside this our monthly webinars continue on all aspects of children’s palliative care.
So much is happening here at ICPCN with regards to children’s palliative care and in particular with regards to pain assessment and management.
Thank you again for your continued support.
