Promoting Inclusive Economic Growth & Development

The Promoting Inclusive Economic Growth and Development Program (PIE-GDP) project by United Way Nigeria is committed to empowering vulnerable and displaced individuals in Konduga LGA, Maiduguri, Borno State. After the years of disaster and relocation, the project is aimed at helping affected individuals rebuild sustainable livelihoods, starting with support and vocational skill trainings.

Several flood-affected families in Maiduguri received clothing items as emergency aid earlier this year; many of these families had previously benefited from UWGN's initiatives. During a difficult recovery period, this small gesture provided comfort and hope. We are still working with communities to assess their needs and build relationships that will allow the project to be fully implemented.

Unfortunately, we received only a dollar donation through the GlobalGiving platform during the recent fundraising campaign; therefore, projects and support initiatives have been delayed due to these funding shortages. However, our commitment remains strong, and we are actively reaching out to volunteers and partners to gather resources to support the goal of PIE-GDP's program initiative. Our continual goal is to create fair economic opportunities that enable families and young people to thrive again.

We are incredibly appreciative of everyone who supports and believes in this project. As we strive to create stronger and more resilient communities in Nigeria, we look forward to sharing more progress shortly.
