Mindanao is a volatile island with war happening in surges and exploiting the Muslim population. There is a need to promote the culture of peace among local residents and imbibe in them the need to collaborate and cooperate for mutual understanding and development. We will contribute to this via culture of peace workshops and community work.
Mindanao is beset by problems caused by religious extremism. Poverty and economic exclusion exacerbate the situation. Every now and then war breaks out and people are displaced and become more poorer, internal refugees in their own land.
We will implement culture of peace workshops for both Muslims and Christians as well as Indigenous Peoples in Mindanao so that they understand their common aspirations and roots. Then we will pilot practical, doable projects focusing on community development actions implemented in cooperation and coordination by all and that will redound to their common benefits.
Development of a community come from local inhabitants themselves working in cooperation and collaboration and the potential long-term impact when this is done is the development of all.
