Women's Health Trainings are in Full Swing!

We’re ovaries-deep (in the best way!) into our Women’s Health Program here at Sacred Valley Health, thanks to you and our incredible network of supporters! From our staff to our health workers, everyone has been so excited to get this program up and running, and I want to share some highlights with you from the first few months of trainings:

Women’s Health promotoras (community health workers) had their first evaluation at the end of November. The average score was 96%, which means both our training staff and the program participants are TOTALLY rocking it!
Passing this evaluation enabled promotoras to begin doing community education on the reproductive health topics they have learned about so far. They have already made more than 100 educational house visits, just in the first 2 months! That means more than 100 women are learning life-changing reproductive health information in their own communities, in their own language. Now that’s empowering.
In November, we hosted our first cervical cancer screening campaign since before the pandemic in partnership with CerviCusco, another NGO based in Cusco that provides free cervical cancer and breast cancer screening. 58 women from our partner communities received free cervical cancer screening from medical professionals from CerviCusco and sexual health education from SVH Promotoras!
