Promise 126 is one of our most important programs at Mercy & Sharing Village. The program provides for the 126 orphans living in our care full time. Many of these children have disabilities and need extra medical attention and therapy. We are the only organization in Haiti that takes in abandoned, orphaned, disabled children. All of these children are special and we have committed to raising them – we cannot let them down!
Seventy-two of our 126 children are fully or partially sponsored. A donation of $6,000 per year provides the essentials for 24/7 care and enables one of our orphans to survive and thrive and includes loving caregivers, therapy, three meals each day, and medical care.
Sometimes we have the hard task of facing the reality that one of our children will not win the fight for life. One of our orphans, Lee, a very sweet boy with autism is struggling with an inoperable cancerous growth on his throat. We are now experiencing the high cost of hospitalization for Lee. We have been caring for him for many years and now are making his life as comfortable as possible and are praying that whatever time he has left will not be in pain.
Some of our children have disabilities and some have conditions which may be life threatening, but we are honored to care for them
The tragedies we deal with are never easy.
However, we are always thankful and happy for those children who are smiling, laughing, and growing!
