The present project is about to support the school enrollment for 200 girls, aged from 8 to 16, taken from the armed groups, in the south kivu and north kivu provinces in Democratic Republic of Congo: school registration, school fees support and community mobilization about the girls' education in the armed conflicted zones or areas.
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is experiencing political crises, economic, social and security serious, since 1996. The succession of wars has had a very negative impact on the situation of the rights of children, especially girls: - Rape and sexual violence, - Recruitment and use by armed groups, - Separation from families, - Schooling, etc. The provinces of eastern DRC have been particularly affected by armed conflict. It is estimated that around 3,000 girls aged between 8 and 16
It will make the school reintegration of girls affected by armed conflicts. Through the advocacy about the girls' education right and the community awareness against obstacles bound to girls' education in the armed conflicted zones.
Education is an essential human right and a force for social transformation, vital pou fight against poverty and armed conflict, giving girls the means to progress, to defend children against hazardous work and exploitation sexual. Education is a tool for promoting democracy, protecting the environment and controlling population growth. Education opens the way to peace and international security.
