We have been trusting the Lord for a facility to conduct our ministry program for a long time, and the Lord has finally granted it to us through the leadership of the school.
The school has been a blessing to us and gave us a seperate room to set up our office to operate and use it as our changing room as well as as a storage facility for our equipment. With your contribution we have been able to do some renovations that include repairing broken windows, replaced curtains, built an iron storage facility for the safe keeping of our equipment, rent the training grounds for our training, purchase of more equipment, provided refreshment to players, and cater for the administration and facilitation cost.
We have also been able to conduct training with over 100 pupils of Mbagathi Road Primary School(MRPS) with the help of our technical team. During these training we have also endevoured to mentor the soccer players and pupils in shaping their charater in a bid to curb the increasing rate of crime, prostitution, early pregnancy, drug abuse and much vices.
We chose to work with this particular school since most of the players and pupils came from Kibera which is the largest urban slum in Africa. Unemployment rates are high. Cases of assault and rape are common. There are few schools, and most people cannot afford education for their children. Most Kibera slum residents live in extreme poverty, earning less than US$1.00 per day. Cases of orphaned children and single parents are common here, these factors provide room for a number of vices as stated above.
Sports Aid Africa has therefore seen the need to intervene to minimize the situation and with sports we are proud to state that we are succeeding in this fight. We appreciate your generous support and we are looking forward to working with you again in 2022. We are also pleased to inform you that we have some money from your contribution still in our accounts that we shall be using to carry on with our program in 2022 as we continue to trust the Lord for more resources.
