GlobalGiving Project of the Month Club

Dear Project of the Month Club Member,

Happy November! Did you know that over the past few months your generosity has spanned across five different continents? To providing quality education for children in the Brazilian Amazon to supporting endangered bandicoots in Australia, your monthly donations are making it possible for high-impact projects around the world to succeed.

Additionally, you and 566 other club members raised $24,109 for the month of October in support of Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) and its project created to Send 100 Girls to STEM Camp in Nigeria. Way to go! 

This month, your donation will support our nonprofit partner Pieta House and its project Save a Life - Counselling for People in Crisis in Ireland. Pieta House is committed to providing free mental health services to those in crisis and has served over 36,000 people in the past 12 years.

Funding and Grants Executive Erin McKay wanted to express her gratitude to you and the other Project of the Month Club members:

“Thank you so much to GlobalGiving and your donors for selecting us as one of your projects of the month. October was mental health awareness month and we are here in Ireland working to reduce stigma and increase awareness around our lifesaving work. The start of winter is a hard time for people, so being the November Project of the Month raises our visibility to people who may be in need of our help. We are so grateful for your support as we are an organization for and by the people of Ireland with most of our funding coming from generous people like yourselves.”

This November, your donation will specifically support Pieta House’s free one-on-one counseling for individuals in crisis. Many of the individuals that Pieta House serves come from disadvantaged areas where substance abuse, unemployment, and poverty are the norm, and mental health services are not accessible. Pieta House offers evidence-based emotional and psychological support at no cost to the individual.

Erin is excited to reach even more individuals in need with the help of our generous community of donors:

“Your generosity will go a long way to supporting our lifesaving work. Your donation will support our ability to provide crisis counselling for people who are experiencing a suicidal or self-harming crisis. Our intervention support offers people the lifeline they need to replace self-harm with self-love, reasons for dying with reasons for living, and despair with hope.”
